Summer "Invigorate" Yoga Retreat

Welcome the Summer season with Joonbug Yoga and Rebekah Brems (500 hour registered yoga teacher)!

This one day retreat is designed for beginning and experienced yoga students. A variety of activities are included throughout the day. Sign-up for all classes or choose which classes you would like to attend throughout the day on the shores of Hood Canal!

Date: Sunday, July 15th, 2018

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Alderbrook Resort and Spa in the Twanoh Room, Pool and Resort Dock, Union, WA

What to bring: Please dress in layers and bring a blanket, bolster or other personal yoga props for added comfort. The resort provides some yoga mats, water and herbal teas during the class. Stand-up paddle boards are limited to 8 total rentals per session listed below or bring your own paddle baord during the session.

Cost and pre-registration details: Please choose the classes you would like to attend.

1 SUP yoga class - $60.00 per person

2 Yoga classes (aqua and gentle) - $50.00 per person

1 SUP yoga class and 2 land yoga classes - $100.00 per person (full retreat)

Michelle Pugh kayaking on Hood Canal!Make time for yourself! Join us for a rejuvenating, nourishing evening on the Hood Canal. Beneath the stunning backdrop of the Olympic Mountains, we'll combine two of our very favorite activities. 

We'll start off on land with an hour of all-levels yoga led by Michelle Pugh, owner of Joonbug Yoga. Next, we'll hop next door to the Union boat launch, do the gear shuffle and go over a few basics before hitting the water. We'll take a leisurely paddle past the historic Hood Canal Marina, where harbor seals, kingfishers, bald eagles, blue herons, loons, etc can often be found. Sarah (owner of Blue Horizons Paddlesports) will be your capable guide, with a decade of guiding experience under her belt and a passion for working with beginners. You'll come away with new tips and tricks to improve your future paddling trips. 

If we get 8 or more to sign up, there will be a special treat from Union City Market, so bring your friends/sisters/grandmothers. Our June 29th event sold out fast - reserve your space soon!

"Cool and Calm" Yin Yoga and Herb Workshop

Avalon Yurt Sanctuary event with Joonbug Yoga in May 2018!Date: Saturday, August 4th, 2018

Location: Avalon Yurt Sanctuary is located at 670 East Strong Road Shelton, WA, 98584

Details: Welcome rest and renewal at our "Cool and Calm" Yin yoga and Herb workshop to soothe your body, mind and spirit inside and out! We will offer cooling herbal teas and a guided Yin yoga practice for overall balance. This workshop is open to beginning and experienced students at Avalon Yurt Sanctuary in the Pickering area in Shelton, WA.  Michelle will offer locally hand harvested herbal teas and Yin yoga postures and end with Yoga Nidra meditation. Our focus during the practice will be calm and cool in the midst of the warm Summer "Yang" energies. We will end the practice with a 30 minute guided meditation that will focus on new beginnings, planting seeds of intention and overall balance during the season. Please bring a yoga mat and blanket for added comfort. Some bolsters will be provided.

Cost: $35.00 per person due by August 1st, 2018.

"Journey Through the Chakras" Yoga Workshop

Take a journey through the chakras with Joonbug! This workshop is designed for beginning and experienced yoga students to explore the 7 major energy centers (chakras) through the use of yoga postures, handouts, essential oils, mantra (sound) and meditation to bring even more balance to the body inside and out! 

Date: Sunday, September 9th, 2018

Time: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Location: Alderbrook Resort and Spa in the Ballroom West Room, Union, WA

Details: We will move through a 90 minute yoga practice with guidance on how to use basic yoga postures, mantra and meditation appropriately in conjunction with specific essentail oil blends for each chakra to balance and renew the body inside and out! Our session ends with a guided Yoga Nidra meditation where we will journey through the chakras (yoga blankets, eye pillows and bolsters will be provided for added comfort). This class will be held in the Twanoh room at the resort. Please check in at the front desk upon arrival.

Full Moon Yoga at Alderbrook Resort and Spa!

Full moon yoga is held at 7:00 p.m. on the full moon each month. Please call the resort or visit www.AlderbrookResort.com for more information!

Cost: Class is complimentary to hotel guests and $10.00 per person for non-hotel guests. Please pay at the front desk prior to attending class. Details: Experience a one hour moonlit yoga session led by Michelle Pugh! This class is designed for all levels of experience (beginners welcome!) in a beautiful setting along the shores of Hood Canal at Alderbrook. Take in the brightness of the full moon and revel in the opportunity to start fresh in the coming month. Yoga mats and heaters will be provided.
