Michelle Pugh, Joonbug Yoga Owner

Michelle Pugh, owner of Joonbug Yoga, is a traveling Yogini 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher certified by Living Spirit Yoga School, YogaFit®, Forrest Yoga®, Reiki Fitness® and Twist Yoga Edmonds in Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. She is also certified in holistic practices including Myofascial Release for Yoga and Wellness, the Art of Yoga Nidra Meditation, Ayurveda on the Mat, Thai Yoga Bodywork, LaStone Hot Stone Bodywork and Usui Reiki.

Michelle established Joonbug Yoga in 2010 with a passion to blend her creative talents with health, wellness and community. Her diverse fitness experience comes from over 30 years of athletics, ballet and dedicated yoga training. Michelle's yoga classes blend creativity, strength, balance, flexibility and flow blooming straight from the heart!

Michelle established her yoga studio and operated the brick and mortor space from 2010 through 2017 managing 12 teachers and all business details (ie. marketing, communications, accounting, etc.). She closed the physical studio space in 2017 and now offers yoga sessions at various locations throughout Washington State as a traveling Yogini with focus on extending the benefits of yoga into the larger community. Michelle shares weekly yoga classes, private group sessions, wellness retreats and 200 hour yoga teacher training through Joonbug Yoga School (R.Y.S.) and Yoga Alliance. She has over 9 years of teaching experience and led two successful 200 hour yoga teacher trainings (2014-2016). Joonbug Yoga was nominated for Business of the Year by the Shelton Mason County Chamber of Commerce in 2014.

Her professional path was grounded in family, creativity and movement since childhood. Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and son (skiing, fly fishing, gardening and creating) while staying in touch with a profound connection to the natural elements that inspire her yoga practice.

Her expertise in marketing and visual communication is rooted in her graphic design career. She graduated from The Art Institute of Seattle and has worked professionally as a Senior Graphic Designer for Washington state government, non-profit organizations and small businesses since 1996. Michelle previously worked for The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, The Olympian Newspaper, The Tacoma News Tribune and Indian Country Today Newspaper and continues to design websites and print publications through her freelance business, Joonbug Graphic Design.
